It is very well known, that the density of keywords posses an extreme role in the optimization of web pages for the search engines. The rules of SEO are always changing, nevertheless different factors play an important role in their construction, and you shouldn`t ignore them.
The density of keywords is in itself the frequency with what the selected keyword, or phrase of keywords occur in a web page. How to calculate it? It could be count by dividing the total number of keywords on a sum of all words on the page. For instance, if there are nearly 100 words on a page, except HTML code and the others codes, and the keyword is used for a five times for the whole page, the density of keywords is 5%.
The formula looks like that:
5 (usage of keywords) divided by 100 (sum of total words) = .05
For example: 0.05 x 100 = 5%
The next important thing is that the density of keywords should not be overused. The percentage of their usage should be between 3 - 5%, not more, because the search engine could estimate your text as a spamming. It`s important to follow some rules. For instance, the keywords should be present in the major places of your text, such as beginning, first paragraph, last paragraph and several times in the body of the text. Check the 5% level for the limit, don`t exceed it. Search engines could reject your text, if the density of keywords is high.
If you`ll remember these easy rules, your creation of websites would be all right. It could be applied for each page in itself and for the whole site. Remember, that the home page is most important page for indexing. Put special attention to it. Pick out the optimal density of keywords during your home page optimization.
The keywords density less than 5% is optimal as for search engines as for visitors, because it sounds naturally. And the visitors are the best experts. If they feel the spamming, the search engines would not miss it too!

Is it including meta tags?
To John: Keywords destiny measures only for pure page content. You can measure keyword destiny for meta tags separately to prevent them from keyword spam.

I know even many of the article directories will not accept more than 4 percentage. But i`m not sure in web page content too!!
Would be nice to add a keyword analysis service, not just for a website, but for a user text.
